Luzinterruptus created yet another dazzling artistic intervention on the streets of Madrid last month, using over 2,000 salvaged plastic cups and containers to create a glowing installation representing a swimming pool. The Spanish art collectivefilled each of the recycled containers with blue water, arranged them into a small rectangle, and illuminated them. Set up across the Plaza de la Cebada on May 15th, the installation represents a community swimming pool originally demolished in 2008 and never replaced. The team’s work is a beautiful yet forceful reminder that the community is still waiting for the return of the valuable public facility.
